Spotlight On: SHERYL CROW

ABOUT this week’s podcast guest + radio hour featured interview:

Back in 2019, the multi-Grammy winning artist, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and all around icon, Sheryl Crow put out her eleventh studio album called Threads. It was intended to be her final album, and a celebration of all of her musical SHEROES and heroes, as well as a spotlight on newer artists who she sees as lighting the way of the future. But a creative force like Sheryl Crow, who has always been an activist and someone who has paved the way for so many, couldn't stay away from the studio for too long. Thankfully, the pause felt even shorter with the release of a 2022 documentary called Sheryl, and in 2023, (the year that also marked the 30th anniversary of her debut Tuesday Night Music Club), just before being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sheryl Crow announced her upcoming new album called Evolution. In today’s conversation, we’ll hear why Sheryl turned the production reins over to someone else for the first time since her debut, why she feels it’s important to work with and uplift other women, and how at 62, she has more to say and is more inspired than ever to write music. I am so thrilled to help celebrate the release of Evolution this week, and welcome Sheryl Crow as this week’s SHERO in the Spotlight.
