Spotlight On: GRACE CUMMINGS
ABOUT this week’s podcast guest + radio hour featured interview:
Every so often a voice emerges that hits you like a force of nature - pick your metaphor. A tidal wave, an earthquake, a storm. Moments of calm juxtaposed with intensity, and rawness. A voice that is powerful and undeniable. Australian singer and songwriter Grace Cummings possesses this mighty gift, and it is no wonder that she has made such a quick rise from Melbourne’s indie music scene to releasing her debut Refuge Cove in 2019, to signing with ATO Records here in the states and releasing her sophomore album - the aptly titled Storm Queen in 2022, and now, with the help of sonic wizard Jonathan Wilson as her producer, who has worked with the likes of Father John Misty, Margo Price, Conor Oberst, Erykah Badu, and Roger Waters, to name a few, Grace has just released her most lush album to date, Ramona, which is full of beautiful orchestral arrangements, and songs that are carried by Frace’s wordsmithing and a voice that speaks volumes - even without any words. I am thrilled to welcome Grace Cummings as this week’s SHERO in the Spotlight.
