Spotlight On: GRACE POTTER
ABOUT this week’s podcast guest + radio hour featured interview:
It's been said that legends are born, not made. But when it comes to the rock world, being born a woman who is destined for stardom usually requires a little of both. Enter Grace Potter - an exceptional singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and one of the 25 greatest guitarists ever, according to Rolling Stone, not to mention being widely considered one of the most electrifying performers seen on a stage in the past twenty years. That's where yours truly first had my mind blown by Grace Potter, at the Mountain Jam Festival in Hunter, New York, performing with her band The Nocturnals. Her star power, her talent, and infectious energy, were undeniable. Born in 1983 in Vermont, Grace has been releasing records since she was nineteen, starting with two solo albums in 2002 and 2005, followed by four studio albums as Grace Potter & The Nocturnals between 2005 and 2012, and three more solo albums - 2015’s Midnight, Daylight in 2019, and just weeks ago, Mother Road, a concept album of sorts, and a new high water mark in this self-made legend’s catalog. I'm thrilled to welcome Grace Potter as this week’s SHERO in the Spotlight..
