ABOUT THIS WEEK’S SHERO IN THE SPOTLIGHT:

With an early affinity for music, Sharon Van Etten started her musical training playing piano, clarinet, violin, and singing with her New Jersey elementary school’s “Mini Singers”, then performing in high school choirs and musicals. One of five kids, Sharon Van Etten describes her childhood-self as “a bit shy” and “singing in the background”.

Through hard work, and hard times, Sharon Van Etten followed her dreams to an amazing series of connections, one unfolding after the other, which have continued right up to the present moment. The release of her latest and fifth album - 2019’s critically hailed Remind Me Tomorrow - marked a pinnacle moment in this artist’s life and career as she left the heartbreak of her past behind for a new chapter of love, motherhood, and creativity that is continually growing and expanding in new and exciting ways, including acting, scoring for film, and returning to school to study psychology. She may call it luck, but once you hear her tell her story there can be no doubt that Sharon Van Etten has earned every bit of success she has.

Episode 2 features a not-to-miss interview with Sharon Van Etten, who gives us an intimate look at her journey and what shaped her as a musician and a woman. Her story has a turning point on one very special Thanksgiving which set into motion the next chapter of her personal and creative evolution, opening doors to new connections and supportive relationships that have marked her amazing, and ever-expanding career.
