Spotlight On: CATE LE BON
ABOUT THIS WEEK’S SHERO IN THE SPOTLIGHT:
There are certain musicians who you will hear referred to as an artist’s artist, those exceptional writers and performers whose work satisfies and inspires the most creative minds. Singer, songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Cate Le Bon is an artist of that caliber. Born and raised in Wales, Cate first emerged with a Welsh language EP in 2008, and her first proper full length album Me Oh My in 2009. Since then, she relocated to LA, and in addition to putting out her own music, began collaborating and recording with artists such as Perfume Genius, Kevin Morby, Manic Street Preachers, and Bradford Cox of Deerhunter, who she also worked with as a producer, in addition to her production work for Eleanor Friedberger, John Grant, among others. Now with five EPs and five albums to her name, Cate Le Bon is back with her brilliant sixth collection, Pompeii, which was just released, and is already garnering critical acclaim. Cate Le Bon is this week’s SHERO in the Spotlight.
Our playlist includes new music from Hurray For The Riff Raff, and LA based band Momma.
