Spotlight On: SNAIL MAIL
ABOUT THIS WEEK’S SHERO IN THE SPOTLIGHT:
Singer songwriter, guitarist, and producer Lindsey Jordan could easily be called a prodigal talent. But her age is almost besides the point when you hear what became her critically hailed and exceptional 2018 full length Snail Mail debut, Lush. Nevermind that she had already recorded and released two EPs, 2015’s Sticki, and Habit in 2016, before she had even graduated high school. Yes, the songs for Lush were written when she was just 17, but at any age, Lindsey Jordan and the music she makes as Snail Mail would be worthy of the accolades it receives and more. But explosive success as a teenager can take its toll, and after a soul-searching journey and time spent during the pandemic back at her childhood home where those first songs were written, Lindsey Jordan has re-emerged with an amazing sophomore album, Valentine: a new high water mark for Snail Mail, and she joins us this week as our SHERO in the Spotlight.
Our playlist includes new music from AURORA, and the second single off of Mitski’s upcoming album Laurel Hell, called “The Only Heartbreaker.”
