ABOUT THIS WEEK’S SHERO IN THE SPOTLIGHT:

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Indigo De Souza was raised in a small town in North Carolina to an artist mother and Brazilian musician father. She began playing guitar as a child, and writing songs, and it didn’t take long before Indigo was performing. Though she knew that she and her artistic family didn’t quite fit the mold of the small conservative town she was in, it didn’t stop her from growing into the young artist she was destined to become. Seeking out the freedom and support of an artistic community brought her to Asheville, where Indigo would fully embrace her path, embarking on a journey of self-discovery that eventually led to writing and recording the songs that would become her 2018 self-released debut, I Love My Mom. Touring and building a following through her shows and online, Indigo De Souza landed a record deal with revered indie label Saddle Creek, and is now back with her sophomore effort, Any Shape You Take, released to critical acclaim. This week we celebrate its arrival and shine the SHEROES Spotlight on Indigo De Souza.
